No, you don’t have to change at all. Your business can remain the same since it’s doing good BUT…..
Here are a few things I really think you should consider.
EVOLVING IS NECESSARY TO STAND OUT
Do you just want to be another [fill in the blank] or do you want to be known for a specialty in your market? If you want to be one of a million, don’t change. If you want to be known as a specialty brand…keep evolving.
Tip: Ask yourself an honest question today. Are you standing out in your market? When was the last time you’ve changed your approach or your experience?
TO NOT CHANGE = YOU’RE STAGNANT
To be stagnant is the opposite of being driven to change. Here’s the meaning of stagnant: having no current or flow and often having an unpleasant smell as a consequence. To have no current means you’re not moving. Although you might think you’re ok because you’re comfortable, to not move is unpleasant and will have consequences. Do you want to have a consistent flow in your life or remain stagnant?
Tip: If you haven’t done anything different in a while, it’s time. I know that it will require time and effort. Things you might be running very low on. I triple dog dare you to do something within a week that you’ve been wanting to do but haven’t had the time or energy to do. Change things up and keep challenging yourself to do so-so you don’t become stagnant.
CLIENTS WILL LEAVE
I know that you might feel like you have clients that will stay forever. They will…until you don’t go above and beyond. Until someone is presenting to them something more promising more than you are. They might start to question what you’re doing and if you’re giving them your best. When they hear experiences from friends they will compare it to the one they’re getting and they will wonder.
Tips: If you’ve been giving your clients the same experience for the last 3+ years…it might be time to change it up. Or an even better question…have you been giving them less of yourself and expecting more financially? You REALLY need to think about this. Your client experience should be evolving with your prices. The fact that you have gained years of experience should not be a reason to charge people more and give them less of you. Increase in price should mean that the experience value is going to match that price. The moment people start to question your value and the return they received, that’s when you can be sure they’re going to be looking for someone else-even if it hurts them to do so.
SHOWING UP BECOMES EXCITING
Creating change actually gets you excited to show up. It brings a motivation and excellence. Do you want to drag your feet to work or do you want a new pep in your step? Innovating, creating new things, changing and shifting will keep you on your toes. It will help you thrive.
Tip: Look up some fresh ideas this week on how to create a more exciting experience in your work. Then ….apply some of it and see how you make clients feel and in return, how great you will feel showing up for your business. Excellence is always exciting. KEEP ON THRIVING to be better-don’t think you’ve arrived.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE INNOVATIVE AND CHANGE OFTEN IN BUSINESS?
So, do you have to change and innovate when your business is doing good and you have clients. NO of course you don’t have to. Should you? YES. As entrepreneurs, it’s important to gain a mindset of shifting and changing. We should want to create better systems and perform better for our clients. It’s better that way. Setting the bar instead of being comfortable at the good enough mark.
