Rekindled the Marriage romance in Venice Beach CA and Malibu CA

We took it back to where it all began for Steven and Chanette….at Venice Beach CA. This area brings back fond memories of when the couple would first start dating.

Steven and Chanette were winners of my Rubi Z Thanksgiving 2019 in which they won a full package with incredible stylists and a photoshoot to honor and celebrate their marriage! I’m so big on photography being a tool to rekindle romance-especially when couples have been married for a while, and like Steven and Chanette, have kids and run a business. All of those elements of life can be a lot and you can somewhat lose a sense of getting away and having fun. This giveaway allowed for them to do so as they were gifted the full 9 yards!

The Process: We met with Steven and Chanette about a month prior. We talked about their dream session and location. Breonna with Blazeny and BMP Styling Co was present with me in order to understand the styling she would come up with in order for the full look to come together. Styling: I love the approach that Breonna took when styling Chanette. Chanette didn’t have a healthy connection with wardrobe shopping so based on a little research, some prepping, and shopping…Breonna created an intimate environment and a one on one fitting with Chanette. It was so amazing to watch Chanette weep happy tears as she was in shocked at how she looked and how good she felt. Day of: The day of the shoot Chanette was styled by not only Breonna but had a hairstyle by Krissy and makeup by Maria at the studio at Mesh Cowork in Bakersfield CA. Photography execution: It was important to assure that both Steven and Chanette felt confident in front of the camera and just had a really good time. Being that we began in Venice Beach near the Venice Sign and ended in El Matador State beach in Malibu CA, it already had that nostalgic feeling of when they dated and I wanted to guide the session that way. Chanette and Steven have a beautiful connection founded on a really great companionship and I really wanted to showcase that.
