La Cuesta Ranch: San Luis Obispo Landers Wedding

This Sunday, marks one year from the day my beautiful baby sister, Karina, married the love of her life, Cameron in a lovely ranch property, La Cuesta Ranch, San Luis Obispo Ca. You can read more about my perspective on capturing her day here: I photographed my sister’s wedding.

Just missing one of my brothers on this capture of us siblings with our baby sister on her day.

Cameron and Karina truly were in the moment throughout the entire day. Feeling everything that a couple should feel. Some precious and key moments were:

Their First look inside the barn. Neither one of them anticipated having a first look moment prior to ceremony, so it was beautiful to see how intimate this moment was for them. I had to hold back the tears watching Karina tear up looking up to the man she loves-knowing they were about to making it officially “forever.”

Our mother is a barber and happens to be the one who cuts and styles Cameron’s hair. I was fortunate enough to be present in this moment where my mom, carefully styling Cameron’s hair, says “Take care of my baby.”

These heartfelt moments set the tone for the rest of the day. A beautiful ceremony by a stunning tree shining in all it’s glory draped by beautiful edison bulb lighting and stunning florals drapping [Side note: this was a plan B-but was certainly meant to be a plan A all along]. It was organic and real and brought so much beauty to the tree Karina envisioned she’d be saying her “I do’s” at long before she even met Cameron. And walking down the aisle to the symphony sound of Cattus Quartet.

The significance of the head table set up for Cameron and Karina’s family vs a bridal party. I mean…it was special. Like having a big family intimate dinner. The ambiance of the space, the way the sun was beaming behind the barn. The laughter and joy felt throughout such amazing speeches. A family feast with mariachi…it felt like HOME. Easy, not forced. Just a prettier version of something that represented life to Cameron and Karina.

At some point we trekked on a path up the mountains on the gator by Gabriel, the owner of La Cuesta Ranch. We went up the top of the mountain, to one of the highest peeks, to the most surreal and stunning sunset views. Karina’s middle name is “Del Sol,” which means…from the sun. So there was something so spectacular about this moment with Cameron and Karina, and the sun in all its beautiful glory. Honestly, it was quite humbling to be a part of it.

We partied the night away inside of a beautiful barn, designed with a concept of Harry Potter candles all around-because that’s the way my sister felt a little more connected to the space. The celebration was unmatched. It was so much fun.

How a year can fly this fast, I do not know…but here we are, just days away from Cameron and Karina being married one year. Guys! I love you so much. I feel so honored to have been present at your wedding in this magnitude. I wish you nothing but many beautiful [even in the struggle] years to come! Happy one year anniversary. With all my heart and soul…Rubi Z [your sister]

On my previous post “I Photographed my Sister’s Wedding” you’ll find me talking a lot more deeply and passionately about the vendors involved. I won’t do it again here, but I feel the same! Thank you all for being a HUGE part of what made Cameron and Karina’s day so wonderful!

Not enough gratitude for Margaux Fischer Photography for going from being my second photographer to 1st photographer so that I could enjoy mealtime and presence with my family! And Pic.Tora also being another photographer day of! All of the moments were so special. So thank you both!
