Where to shoot: San Luis Obispo Ca engagement session

This engagement session begin with an inspiration from Cannon Beach in Oregon. With that desire burning so strongly in me, I recalled a Morro Rock Beach in CA that has a look very similar to Cannon Beach. It also always seems to be very misty and foggy in Morro Rock giving it that true Oregon coast feel.

This inspiration would be what set us off to create Eric and Kathy’s session in the Central Coast. We ended up going to three locations and all of them creating a session that felt very connected to the type of couple that Eric and Kathy are.

LOCATION: Downtown San Luis Obispo CA. Specific areas featured: Parking structure on Marsh St. The Bubblegum Alley [which is super popular in downtown SLO]. The San Luis Obispo Creek Walk near NOVO restaurant [it basically runs through the middle of town and from certain streets you can find access points-basically behind NOVO restaurant, you’ll have to ask locals how to easily access it]. Kreuzberg California a coffee shop in downtown SLO-I’ve forever wanted to do a coffee session-I mean…hello…I’m obsessed with coffee-but it just never felt right-until now, with Eric and Kathy and Kreuzberg and it was PERFECT.

LOCATION: Cal Poly Trail -There was so much of this area that wasn’t explored. I would most definitely go back for a full shoot here. Things to consider: Parking-you must park on the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus and try to find the closest parking to the main gate entrance. Small hike-there’s a small hike that leads up to the open field where you will see the remnants of architect student projects. Animal activity-we spotted deer, but you’re outdoors so be mindful of animal activity.

LOCATION: Morro Bay Beach CA . The location that I built the whole collection around.
