Happy Anniversary to Diego + Alexa as they celebrate one year since this moment of their wedding day in Bakersfield Ca. Diego + Alexa are the kind of people who love to surround themselves with family and friends and their wedding day felt like just another beautiful celebration of life! They truly had a way of making every single person there feel important and wanted, including myself. I asked Diego and Alexa to give me a word that best describes their first year as a married couple and to describe what they mean by it and this is what they had to say:
Growth
“Marriage isn’t easy and this year has been far from that for us. We have had plenty of ups and downs and ironically it’s all been worth it. The biggest difficulties have come from joining our separate lives together and learning to do things as one unit instead of two all while fighting to keep God in the center of it. Some days were easier than others but all 365 days meant something and brought us closer together. It’s a year of growth and maturity as individuals as well as a unit. We hope to continue to grow as we dive into year two. Growing both spiritually and mentally, together.” -Diego + Alexa
I asked Diego and Alexa if they had any advice to other couples who are prepping for their big day as well and this is what they had to say: “Invest in quality vendors. Don’t just look at their work, look at who they are as a business and what they value and represent. They will be with you during this whole process so it’s important that you select vendors your trust and feel comfortable with. Go with your heart!” -Diego + Alexa

Amazing work by a beautiful photographer
There are not enough words to describe how great Rubi is. Not only is she kind and professional she’s also amazing at what she does. As soon as I got engaged I knew Rubi was meant to capture our special day. She pours her whole heart into what she does and genuinely invests all of her creativity in those she works with. Her work is amazing. We have gotten so many compliments on the work she did on our engagement pictures as well as for our wedding. She really went above and beyond to make sure EVERY moment was captured. She doesn’t just show up on your wedding day to capture the photos. There’s a process she goes through with her clients in order to make sure she truly captures the essence of who the couple is. She did everything she could to make sure my husband and I felt comfortable in front of the camera and made us feel extra special. Rubi researches locations, sends outfit inspiration, goes to the venues to fuel her creativity, meets with you frequently and is always available to communicate when needed.
Rubi is the best and will be capturing our journey in photos for many years to come.
