There are moments that I capture that kind of, sort of, shock me to be honest. Yes, I come in with an idea, a concept and then sometimes it just turns into something I couldn’t have even imagined myself.
When I talked to my clients about their session and we dreamed up some ideas, this was not necessarily in their ideas or plans…this was something that I kept imagining for them. I couldn’t get my mind off of a car involved in an open road-kind of like the artistic singer songwriter you see walking down a road in a movie, that’s what I kept imagining. We were actually searching for Rachael’s dream car and had no luck [and trust me, I tried!] but then I spotted this car in a parking lot. Yes, this sort of vintage classic car in the middle of a progress and something about it’s bones just spoke to me. Something about it’s colors and textures. I felt it and imagined it and I had to ask! Needless to say the owner Zen, a cool-greaser looking guy from Bakersfield, was on board and willing to allow us to use it.
From the beginning, I felt every single moment of this session. I must have said “wow! wow! wow!” like every few seconds. But….there was a MOMENT….they were sitting inside the car. I had them snuggled up to each other and the windows were down. There was suddenly [literally out of no where] this gust of wind that came in and caused this split second magic! It was one of the most cinematic scenes I’ve ever created and ever captured! It was special.
I’ve been holding on to this collection so tightly…I really hope you enjoy this collection and feel these beautiful moments with me!
Their wedding is going to take place in Bakersfield CA and it’s going to be a Honky Tonk party! I’m sort of freaking out EXCITED! I can’t wait! With all my heart and soul…Rubi Z
