DEVELOPMENT requires that you become intentional about the changes you need to make to grow. There is something so incredible about showing up to your life and your business like you know something good is about to knock on your door. But if something good knocks…are you ready?
Here’s are a few things to focus on so that when opportunities find us, we are ready for them:
1. CLARITY. It’s important to understand what you want to do and who you want to serve. Otherwise you’ll be swayed by money and you’ll accept everything. When the opportunity you actually are hoping for knocks, it might find you too busy doing things you never wanted to do in the first place.
2. EDUCATE. Education is vital to growth. But understanding the areas in your life and business that need the most growth and then directly learning how to grow in that area is key. Information is out there by the millions. If we aren’t careful we can overload and then it becomes noise instead of clarity to grow. When opportunity knocks you’ll have the skills necessary to accomplish the job.
3. DELEGATE. We can probably do a lot of things, but it doesn’t mean we should. Expanding means that you’re able to release things to other people so you can build and strengthen the areas you are the strongest in. When opportunity knocks you’ll be ready because you will be operating with more time and efficiency.
4. HABITS. Work on eliminating bad habits. It’s the little things that make up the big picture. Aim to stop ONE bad habit this week, and aim to pick up one good habit this week and stick to it. When opportunity knocks you won’t be swayed by bad habits that will bring your good habits down.
5. FOCUS. Stop multitasking. It’s been proven that none of us are actually good at multitasking. Creating a more refined system will give you the focus you need. There are several ways to go about becoming a more focused and productive business. Time blocking, focus days. Whatever direction you take, make sure it’s focused on one thing at a time. When opportunity knocks you will have achieved more because of your dedication and focus to build something day by day.
6. INVEST. You’ve heard it before, but let me say it again. To invest in your business means you’re banking on yourself! It’s putting your money where your mouth is. Do you believe in your business…prove it. If you don’t believe in your business, why would anyone else? If you invest, opportunity will knock and you will have built a business of value that others will be eager to invest back into.
7. PURPOSE. Understand the purpose behind what you want and why you want it. Wanting more money will leave you empty and it will get you to do anything for it. Leaving you empty and without drive. If you know why you want to grow, you can stay true to the passion and mission in your heart that far outweighs what money can buy. You’ll find yourself naturally thriving because you’re doing what you love and loving what you do. When opportunity knocks, it will find you ready with a type of flame that lights up others.
